Futuristic Predictions

Five years from now it doesn’t really seem like anything major will change. Maybe our technology, like phones and computers. They said back in the 90’s that by 2000 we were going to have hovercrafts as our mobiles. We still do not have that.

In ten years, we might have come up with something drastic like cloning machines but I doubt it. They still don’t even have cures to sickness. Maybe they will solve that. Generations below me will definitely have gotten worse. Kids are more into technology at a younger age. Obesity will probably at a higher rate.

Someone was telling me one day that the earth is changing from more negative to a positive. That we are all going to witness a major change. So maybe everyone would be more happy and the world would become a better place.

In 20 years, the world will definitely be a different place. We will probably have hologram TVs and virtual realities. Teens these days are more provocative. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be in 20 years. Children are going to be having babies at 10 years old and it will be normal.

The styles will definitely change. I look back on the different hairstyles and the clothes I used to wear/have when I was younger. It’s a big change.

I hope in the future that I have my dream job. Hopefully something new comes out like realistic 3D movies to where you are in the movie are invented and I can be apart of that. My dream is to be a 3D modeler. I hope to create amazing models just like in the new movie Godzilla that’s coming out. I hope to have my dream home. Maybe then houses will be built floating on the clouds. I hope to be married with an amazing husband and three kids.

In 50 years, I don’t really think I’ll know what that is. I don’t see myself getting old so I don’t believe I will be alive at 71 years old. I’m sure that the earth would be shifted by then if not blown up. Sea level is rising, toxins are released in the oceans, and global warming is killing off life.

Hopefully in the matter of 5 years, the earth will shift in a 90 degree positive direction.

Virtual World Chaos

eXistenZ was AWESOME. This movie has such a great storyline. It was disturbing, uncomfortable and mind tricking. Movies like that are crazy imaginative.

I had recently seen Oculus which had just the same idea as in leaving you wondering what the hell just happened. Where the main character doesn't really know if the ending is real life or if they are still trapped in a delusion.

This movie is like Stay Alive. It's a movie about a group of teenagers playing a video game about Elizabeth Bathory. It's a video game where what ever happens in the video game happens in real life. The way the teens die in the video game they get murdered the same way in real life. The only way to stop it they have to find the dead body of Bathory. They eventually find the body in a tower where they have to drive three nails into her body. One in her heart, one in her throat, and one in her head.

Stay Alive is an awesome movie but it is more in the Horror Genre. eXistenZ is more in the SciFi genre. eXistenZ and Stay Alive are completely different but one in the same. eXistenZ was a virtual reality game that what you were thinking happened in the game. In the virtual world everyone was after  Allegra. In Stay Alive the ghost of Bathory is after the teenagers. The teenagers are actually playing the game with a playstation console and then the coincidence of it happening in real life. It wasn't a virtual reality like eXistenZ.

I love the concept of it being a virtual world video game. My freshmen year we had to write a paper of an invention we would create. Mine was a virtual world helmet that trained you to know what to do in case of crime. If someone was trying to hurt you, murder you , rape you, or even rob you, you would know exactly what to do to prevent it. It would definitely save a lot of problems from happening.

The ending of this movie was completely unpredictable and I think that's what made the movie.

TiMER to LoVE

TiMER was actually really good. When they first revealed the timers were for finding your true love, I was like you got to be kidding me. I hate love stories. They aren't real and they don't exist. But this movie was really good.

If timers really existed to finding your true love I believe that everyone would totally go for it. I think I even would but at the same time I really wouldn't want to be programmed with a countdown watch on my wrist. Knowing the second your going to run into your true love really wouldn't be exciting. The relationships that come and go in life teach you lessons in life and that would not happen ever. The timer could be life changing but also lose a lot of socializing between men and women. 

This movie reminded me of the movie "

In Time" with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. Where everyone has a countdown attached to their wrist. But in this movie time is money. They use their life time to buy things and they can also earn more. Rich people have the longest living lives and the poor are fighting every last second of their lives for more time.

TiMER is creative and actually funny. I enjoyed watching it. It really wasn't the typical SciFi movie I was hoping for but it was nice to watch. Instead of a silver band it should have been some kind of creepy parasite that would release from you when you found the one. It might have made it a little more interesting and quite disturbing.

Really… What Happened?

Alien Takeover

From the clip that we saw in class, this movie looks awesome. When I have free time, Im definitely watching this entire movie. It was creepy, surprising and it even made me jump. I normally don't like movies about aliens that are completely unrealistic but this movie had my attention.

The monster alien was literally a puff ball but the thing that made it eye catching was the glowing mouth. I kind of want to go design a monster with a glowing mouth. I normally don't get interested unless a monster is designed in a completely unique way. I wasn't interested until I saw the way the alien moved, growled and interacted.

I watch a lot of horror movies and I compare this to if it actually happened in the real world. What would I do? What would happen? Would I even have a chance? If this happened? I would shit my pants. There is something about loud, fast moving monsters with sharp teeth that leave me on edge. I would not be able to handle life if they existed.

This movie is like a nightmare. But it does have a storyline like a lot of alien movies except its placed in the ghetto. The typical aliens fell from earth, no one in the neighborhood knows but the lead actors and the aliens are only chasing them.

Like I said, I'm surprised that I like this movie because I normally don't like alien movies because they are too unrealistic but I do like this one. Aliens are one of my worst fears. I hate them they scare the shit out of me but only when it's to realistic. Like the movie the Fourth Kind. That movie gave me nightmares. The other two movies are Dark Skies and Signs.

Movies like The Thing and Alien have something about them that are like okay this is extreme, still scary, but to unrealistic. Fourth Kind, Dark Skies and Signs are things that could actually happen. And I believe the Fourth Kind is based off of true events.

And these Alien creatures? Yea remind me of Critters. But more scary then funny.

Bloodchild

This was an interesting read. When I started reading it, I was a little confused an lost until the story described T'Gatoi. The author did a good job describing the scenes and the aliens. It was very visual for me. 

Growing up in a family with an alien is an interesting approach. I could not imagine being implanted with grub worms to reproduce for an alien. I sure as hell would not want to be ripped open then fed eggs to heal. The family seemed kind of like a human farm for T'Gatoi. She would plant when she needed to to create more of her species. 

Reading this short story reminded me a lot of Goosebumps. Odd, weird, short stories of strange happenings. It is definitely a plot that R.L. Stine would write. A family that grew up with an alien, describing there everyday of waiting to be stung, fed eggs, and to be implanted with flesh eating grub worm babies. Taking the weird and making it seem normal.

This story also reminded me of The Thing. The way the killing scenes are in The Thing sounded just like Bloodchild. Aliens would be in a host and it would be unnoticeable to other humans. The aliens would then emerge from the human and sometimes mold from human features.

This story symbolized a lot towards human birth except through males. The ripping open symbolizes a C-section. The sting symbolizes an epidural. When a woman bears a child she is pretty much being a host. 

Visualizing T'Gatoi, I thought a lot about the Human Centipede 2 image.

 

 

Two in the Same?

The Hobbit was tough to read but I liked it. When I was reading I could visualize the scenery and the creatures. It actually made me want to illustrate it. I have never seen the movie and I would actually like to compare what I was visualizing to what the developers of the movie created.

Before I read the book, I would always hear about how Harry Potter was just like The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. After reading the book I can now see what people mean. Worlds of crazy creatures trying to obtain a certain accomplishment. The one thing that really reminded me of Harry Potter when I was reading the Hobbit was the part with the spiders. When they are traveling through the forest and Bilbo falls into the spider web waking up the spiders. 

I would have TOTALLY loved to produce this scene by modeling and animating the spiders! But anyways, Harry Potter also had a spider scene. It was a little more of a fantasy because there was a head spider that Harry conversed with about the Chamber of Secrets. Then the head spider calls the others to feed on Harry and his friends but the magic car saves them. Honestly I like the scene in the Hobbit more because it is more realistic.

It seems like the same kind of set up. Now I’m really am starting to wonder if Harry Potter was based off of the Hobbit. The Hobbit has spiders, a dragon, little dwarf like creatures, wizards, etc. Gandalf and Dumbledor look so much alike and they kind of play the same role. Dumbledor is a teacher and mentor while also giving Harry advice on defeating Voldemort. Gandalf was a mentor and helped with staying away from the demons. Another comparison would be Doby and Gollum. Doby was a house elf that was freed who helped Harry. Gollum was more after Bilbo because he wanted the ring that had enslaved him. Gollum and Doby more or so look alike to me.

 

Maybe J.K Rowling may or may not have copied J. R. R Tolkien. They just used the same mythical creatures. Either way they are both amazing storylines and did an awesome job.
